Interferometric Optics

Introduction

Interferometric Optics recognizes that interference is the essence of contemporary optics. IO focuses on interferometric solutions for science, medicine, and industry. Its emphases are on research and the combination of research and development. However, its broader expertise bridges from theory to experiment, from experiment to prototype, and from prototype to early production. In addition to interference, IO specializes in the theory and design of dispersive optics directly applicable to narrow-linewidth tunable lasers and optical instrumentation. IO is based in Rochester, New York, and was registered in Monroe County, in May 2006. IO is associated to:

About our cover image: this is a digital version of a Fabry-Perot interferogram originally captured using silver-halide photographic film. The interferogram illustrates single-longitudinal-mode emission from a high-power multiple-prism grating solid-state tunable laser. This and more interferometric images can be found in F. J. Duarte, Tunable Laser Optics (Elsevier-Academic, New York, 2003).
